Biography:
Tracy Winfree McCourtney is a retired social worker and a dedicated supporter of Penn State’s College of the Liberal Arts. After graduating, she worked with foster children and families in New York City, an experience that shaped her enduring commitment to creating opportunities for others. With her husband, Ted McCourtney, she has helped strengthen the liberal arts through extensive philanthropic support, including a transformative $3 million gift to establish the McCourtney Institute for Democracy. The McCourtneys have endowed undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships, faculty professorships, and program funds in areas including psychology, sociology, American history, and the humanities. They have also supported the Moore Building renovation and the Career Enrichment Network.
