The McCourtney Institute for Democracy is hiring undergraduate coders for the Mood of the Nation Poll. Unlike traditional public opinion polls, the Mood of the Nation Poll allows respondents to answer open-ended in their own words.
Job Responsibilities and Qualifications
Coders read poll responses and code them for later analysis. This provides a unique opportunity to learn how Americans from all walks of life feel about issues in politics and current events. Student coders may also use the data for their own research.
Hours for this position are variable, up to 10 hours per week. All work must be completed in Pond Lab.
The starting wage is $12 per hour. No experience or particular skills are required, but you must be willing to learn new software and to work collaboratively with other student coders.
Students from any College of the Liberal Arts major are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to sophomores and juniors.
