Michael DeMarco is an adjunct professor at the Costello College of Business at George Mason University, where he teaches innovation and entrepreneurship. He also holds degrees from the Fox School of Business at Temple University (1984) and an M.B.A. in finance from Columbia Business School (1991). DeMarco retired in 2019 as global strategic alignment manager at ExxonMobil Corporation, where he directed international initiatives to strengthen business performance and align corporate strategy. From 2012 to 2020, he served four terms on the Fairfax City Council in Virginia, advancing economic development, community engagement, and sustainable growth. He also served on the Penn State Department of Political Science Board of Visitors from 2014 to 2022.
