Course Description

Like every historical era, the U.S. confronts problems that will fundamentally impact our country and the world at large. But for many years now, Congress has grown unable to transcend partisan politics and attend to these kinds of world-class issues. How did we get here? And what can we do about it?

This one-credit seminar will explore both sides of this question. The class will feature insights from former U.S. Representative and McCourtney Institute Visiting Fellow, Charlie Dent, who spent seven terms in Congress and is part of an effort to re-imagine the Republican Party in the post-Trump era.
