The McCourtney Institute for Democracy is hiring undergraduate research assistants for the Mood of the Nation Poll. Students will read open-ended poll responses and classify them for later analysis. This provides a unique opportunity to learn how Americans from all walks of life feel about issues in politics and current events. Research assistants may also use poll data for their own research.
Job Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Applicants should be available to work on campus at least 3 to 5 hours per week, with more hours when new poll results come in. There are no set hours.
- No experience or particular skills are required, but you must be willing to learn new software and to work collaboratively with other student research assistants.
- Ability to work over the summer a plus.
- Students from any College of the Liberal Arts major are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to sophomores and juniors.
